Your Site Has Been Migrated! What Now?
As part of the website host migration we've tested functionality such as:
- The website is pointing to the new host
- Any email or additional records have been migrated across
- The website is displaying correctly without any errors
- The SSL certificate is working if the site is HTTPS
There are some things we need you to check though to ensure all is well!
Check in your browser
Make sure you can see the website working. If it's an e-commerce store place an order to ensure it works and expected email notifications are received
Fill in a contact form
Fill in your contact form and check you receive the email notification. In theory testing only one form will do because all forms on the site should be using the same system.
Check your emails can receive and send
Both on your computer and your mobile phone. Sometimes small settings like ports change between hosts and need updating.
Check any special items
This won't apply to 95% of sites so if it doesn't sound right it's fine to skip! Examples of special items are any subdomains (dev.mysite.com), shortcut URLs for services like google (mail.mysite.com), or any redirects you can visit.
